Advances in technology are providing UTAS staff with ever-expanding options for technology-mediated teaching & learning. This area of the website provides information, advice and resources that cover the use of technology to support and enhance teaching & learning.
Technology available at UTAS:
- MyLO – My Learning Online - UTAS's centrally-supported online learning management system, using WebCT/BlackBoard Vista
- MyMedia - System to record lectures and other teaching sessions and make them available to students, also used as a streaming media system for all types of audio and video files
- Web conferencing - connect with staff and students using voice, text chat, webcam, whiteboard tools and shared applications
- Blogs and wikis - UTAS has an implementation of these popular collaborative tools
- ePortfolios - An ePortfolio may be used as evidence of learning, ideas, experiences, achievements and reflections
- Videoconferencing – with focus on the centrally-supported facilities through Information Technology Resources (ITR)
- Virtual Worlds - Virtual worlds are online, multi-user, 3D environments where interaction takes place between avatars (a 3D representation of the user in a virtual space) and the virtual environment
